Knowlton’s Landing Wharf
The hamlet of Knowlton’s Landing on the shores of Lake Memphremagog bears witness to the Knowlton family’s arrival in the region. The family eventually settled some 20 km further east, in the village that bears their name. Until the arrival of the railway, anyone travelling between Montreal and Boston had to pass through Knowlton’s Landing, before or after crossing the lake by ferry. The building now known as Chalet l’Aubergine became an important stop on the stagecoach route. From the wharf, enjoy the lovely views of Lake Memphremagog and Owl’s Head Mountain.
